When the South African appointed as World Cup host, the old stadium torn down in 2007 and built a new stadium it is today. From the side view, the exterior of the stadium is covered with a material that reduces noise. Portion of the roof has an area of 37 thousand square meters with a weight of 4500 tons. The stadium was completed in December 2009 was able to accommodate 66 thousand spectators, also equipped with an area of 60 hectares park surrounding it.
